S.G. Wilkins has written two novels based on the very popular television series Kyle XY.Kyle XY: Nowhere to Hide is about Kyle’s Halloween which in the series is referred as “Tie-In”. This novel was published on August 30, 2007.
Whereas, the second novel, Kyle XY: Under the Radar was published on January 1, 2008. This novel moves around School’s presidential elections with Kyle as a candidate.

But this is not the end as two more books are in the queue of publication. One of the book is most likely to be published somewhere around June this year. And the other one will be published in August, 2009.
So I suggest all the fans of the series Kyle XY to pull up their socks for some reading.

I know that it is heart breaking news that Kyle XY won’t be with us anymore as it is not renewing for the forth season. But still I am happy to have Kyle XY in books. The show had run for three seasons in which the show managed to secure huge fan list. But I don’t know why the show got cancelled.
The creators of the show said that the ratings were gradually declining and that is why they had to shut down the series.

I have already written about the first novel based on Kyle XY. So here is something on the second novel, also authored by S.G. Wilkins and aptly titled Kyle XY: Under the Radar, and can be linked to the season two of the show.
Many of you might be able to recall the second season episode 3 called The List is Life and the bonfire that happened there. The story of this novel has been woven around some days in the aftermath of these incidents. The parallel story line in the first novel was all about Tom Foss, and on similar lines, Jessi Hollander now occupies an important position in the story. Jessi, as we all know changed the whole course of where the story was earlier heading to. So the sub - plot has surely been a spiced up one.

The 189 page book came in January, 2008 and there are talks about two more books to follow suit. Also, happening in this novel, are the elections for the school president of Beachwood High. Since Kyle rescues a freshman from a brawl, he is all of a sudden nominated for the elections. Tom Foss, who has been coaching Kyle for the tough times ahead, is not at all pleased with this, as he believes that this is just a ploy to get Kyle to come out in open.

Frankly, I think this is an important twist in the story.
So overall, an insightful book, with some things that you never saw on the television, like the diary maintained by Adam Baylin that is an important component of the book but is never talked about in the TV series. The diary reveals so much, yet so little but definitely it opens up an all together different world to us.

I mentioned in one of my previous posts about the novel based on our much liked show Kyle XY, which was named Kyle XY: Nowhere to Hide.

This book is somewhat linked to the first season of the show, with a lot of focus on the real identity of Kyle, the boy without any memory and without any navel. October is the month, in which the whole story is set, with the Halloween and Kyle’s days at high school getting a special attention. The other important characters of the show also have their fair share of space in the plot, especially, Lori and Josh Trager, who are Kyle’s siblings, Amanda Bloom, the first ray of romance in Kyle’s life, and Hillary who coaches Kyle on the nuances of Halloween. An interesting dimension is brought in by the ever mystic, Tom Foss as he goes on in his attempts to safeguard Kyle.

I always recommend this book to everyone. The story starts off in a classroom of the high school as Kyle is all tense and upset about the whole Halloween thing, including the Monster Mash and the costumes to wear even as Josh and Nicole try to explain to him the traditions and the excitement of Halloween.
That’s it. I am not revealing the whole story, and ending the suspense woven up so well by S.G. Wilkins. But the best part of the story is that it compliments the show just so very well. You really feel the connection through all the 192 pages of the book. The parallel story that runs with the school life of Kyle is of Tom Foss who is maintaining a very close tab on the Trager family and Kyle in particular, but in a very queer and mysterious fashion.
Meanwhile the show is now over with its third season, an update on which will be soon put up by me.
